On a chilly fall day on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Shane and Marnie said their vows at the Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church. This organization’s mission statement includes their commitment to celebrate life and to nourish and nurture the spirit. This was my first wedding in Pittsburgh, and in the seven years since that time I’ve watched from afar as this couple has nurtured their relationship and grown their family. It all started with this day which was very special to me as it was my first Pittsburgh wedding assignment. Marnie’s father had been ill prior to the wedding date, but managed to make it down the aisle with his daughter on his arm. I remember sitting down with him and talking about his career as a teacher in Pittsburgh ( that conversation really resonated with me☺). The reception was held at The Sheraton and was complete with the typical merriment for the occasion. Thanks go out to Marnie’s sister Cathy who introduced me to her and started me on my Pittsburgh wedding photography journey.
