Today I gassed up the Trailblazer and headed up to Slippery Rock. With the colorful fall leaves surrounding them, Sam and Chris rang in their new life together in style-- country style. Right before a short, but sweet service, their young daughter presented her daddy with a special button to wear. She also delivered a touching speech at the reception. When it was time to turn up the music, the wedding staple “Chicken Dance” got the guests turned up. The sight of many happy and festive children dancing made it even more enjoyable. That song seemed a fitting selection since everyone in the hall was treated to an awesome country barbecue, which consisted of lots of fried chicken. The lasting memory I have about this couple came not from the actual wedding day, but from the presentation of the photo album a few weeks later. The smile on Sam’s face as he was going through it reminded me why I love my job so much.
