Alex and Andrew met in the Summer of 2014. After a little Frisbee, they found a mutual interest in the other and went bowling. The two quickly became an inseparable pair, one walking alongside the other throughout their time at CMU. And after a successful defense of his dissertation, Andy made his way to Seattle yet both individuals remained steadfast, determined to do the work necessary to sustain their union. They’d simply become accustomed to the idea of “They.” After a few thousand frequent flyer miles, Alex said “Yes” on a Fourth of July afternoon. And here we are, opening up on another chapter of this story. On a brisk day, the two read each others’ cards with a few happy tears and sincere smiles. Fall was well underway today, but there was a shared warmth between this couple throughout the evening. The ceremony was special, the speeches were spot-on in detail, every moment worth remembering, and every dance passionate. It was a great night and I’m thankful to have played a part in the celebration. Congrats Alex and Andy, enjoy your honeymoon in Hawaii.
