Today I’d like to talk about my first wedding and some of my dearest friends. Paul and Lorrie Newman. I went to Eagles Landing High School with Paul, after graduation he went to Georgia Southern and I went to Morehouse. We kept in touch and after a few years he told me about a young lady he’d met named Lorrie, I could tell this girl was special by the tone in his voice. A few months later, we got together with some of our friends for a Halloween party and I met his future bride to be. You ever have that moment when you know that “this is it,” well I had that for my friend. Sometime after that I got an invite for their wedding day. Now it’s important to remember that at that time I was not a professional photographer, but Paul, a person whose always encouraged me to follow my passion, told me to bring my camera along and take a few clicks. Well I did that just that and a few weeks later presented the images to my friends. Seeing Lorrie’s emotional reaction to an image taken of her and her father dancing is one of the memories I’ll take with me forever, she was so happy. Today this lovely couple has three children, a home in Southern Georgia and two business that they’ve built from the ground up. I’m proud of them and forever grateful for the opportunity and encouragement they’ve given me over the years and I look forward to spending more time with them as we grow older. The best to you both, your friend. -Sean
