The Irish translation of Daire is wealthy. And it was evident that this Daire struck it rich when he met his bride Alana. Some of the guests at the ceremony at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Pittsburgh (Oakland), made a trip across the pond from Ireland to take in the event. And they were treated to a rite wealth with Irish traditions, including music from bagpipes that softly ushered in the new couple’s life. Nicki Dembski and I assisted my friend Randi Voss at this festive gala. The ceremony at Heinz History Center kept the party going and was the scene of a river dance. An appropriate choice considering the Irish history of dancing and the fact that Alana’s hometown of Pittsburgh boasts 3 rivers of its own.
