Over thirty years ago, Elvio and Joe boarded a Baltimore bus. What was supposed to be a typical commute turned out to be quite the opposite. During their ride, the two made eye contact but no words were exchanged. As they departed the bus Elvio knelt over to tie his shoe and Joe tumbled over. As the two gathered, Joe thought, “wow, I’m either clumsy, or this guy really wants to meet me.” After regaining their balance, they checked to make sure the other was alright, which led to chatting, complementing smiles, and then laughter. With that, their original course had pivoted. Their new destination was directed towards the other and a lifetime of shared memories spanning every corner of the globe.
