As I entered the home of Lisa and Lucas, I was greeted by a convoy of nieces and nephews that came knee-high. It was clear that they were super excited to celebrate the big day, an occasion that would be centered around the two but carried the theme of family throughout. Built-in 1900, their new house was is their home, a place shared by not only them but Lisa’s mom, who was steaming her dress while reciting the many accomplishments of her daughter. There were Lisa’s nieces and nephews, who seemed to have an unending amount of energy, running up and down the stairs. This idea of the family was not limited to the home, as I met with Luke who was getting ready with his sisters and mom. Luke’s mom is a crier because she cares. She’s proud of what’s her son and his partner and the future they are building. And finally, as the two of them saw one another for the first look atop Orchard Hill’s Sanctuary, the idea of family would come front and center as worries of potential rain showers seemed to wash away as soon as one saw the other. After a brief ceremony, we made our way through the Strip District to cheers from passers-by and rendezvoused with their guests from in and out of town. After a few introductions, guests sat down for an Italian dinner and served family-style with plates and smiles. Soon the Bachelor Boys would turn up the volume on the celebration and have the crowd dancing for the remainder of the evening. Congrats
